The clinical workflow is a method that simulates a doctor-patient consultation. Patients do no longer have to be admitted to the hospital to be monitored or to go to their daily/weekly/monthly check ups. They can be at a rural or remote location or in their own home.

The clinical workflow includes questions and requests to carry out health measurements using medical devices – and has a specific workflow for one or more diseases. Depending on the patient’s condition or disease, the doctor can assign several workflows to the patient. The patient is then prompted to go through the clinical workflow, in order to give all the necessary information to the doctors at the hospital or the health care organization.

The clinical workflow changes direction, and trigger color coded notifications, depending on the patient’s response, giving the doctor accurate and detailed information about the patient’s health. The design tool also allow clinicians to give detailed and context sensitive coaching feedback to patients for educational purposes. This allows healthcare personnel to review, coach, analyze and intervene when necessary. An added benefit is, that this helps prioritize the healthcare effort towards the critical patient initially, thus optimizing healthcare efforts enormously.
